Reputation is an integral part of human interactions. As human life adapted to larger social groups and became a global society, we lost our ability to track the social alignment of the individual. Those who acted against the best interest of society could disappear into anonymity. Western culture offers little accountability and tends to reward sociopathic behaviors with capital and power. People who project personas of righteousness may act the opposite behind closed doors. We attempt to solve the crisis of accountability through our reputation system. 

Taking that first step towards accountability can seem oppressive coming from our current paradigm. Just the phrase “social credit” brings to mind propaganda and myths around efforts to implement a national credit rating and blacklist system by the People’s Republic of China. Here we assert that the only way to operate such a system in alignment with the people is to retain non-authoritarian principles while allowing room for communication and redemption. Such a system needs to operate from the ground up at a peer to peer level and never from the top down. No central authority should ever dictate what is good or bad behavior, here our peers decide. Choosing to exclude yourself or your group from participation in mal-aligned groups, along with the ability to publicly attach reasoning for your protest is our path to coexisting. 

The right/left -east/west divide, and everything in between can be quantified as a personal metric based on empathy. The far-right tends to treat empathy as a mental disease while the far-left uses it as a moral compass. On the other axis, we have authoritarian/anti-authoritarian – north/south. While the platform is built entirely on leftist/anti-authoritarian principles, allowing other polarities to congregate and have their own separate space on the platform where they don’t feel they are being excluded, allows room for growth and cooperation. While this is an anti-hate platform, it is more energy efficient to build systems to keep hate voluntarily quarantined in a honey pot, than it is to proactively filter and repel infiltrations.
